Linda Strutz has proven to be a strong force in our community in her abilities in mentoring our children. Her programs are truly enlightening, evident in her students who are accomplishing their dreams by advancing into goals which are bigger and better because of Linda and her academy.
Cameron Benson City Manager, Hollywood
We all need good things in our lives, like sports, dance and music. Good things can be habit-forming. After more than 10 years, the Academy of Dance is still a habit my family does not want to break. Linda, thank you and we look forward to the Arts Academy of Hollywood.
Cynthia Burden Dance Class Participant & Mother of Dance Student
I’m pleased to extend my full support to the creation of Arts Academy of Hollywood. The Arts Academy is more than an amenity to the downtown or living in Hollywood – even though that would be enough. It is, in fact, a vital component of a family oriented community in light of the realities of today’s world.
The Governments of Florida and the United States have greatly reduced funding for the arts, and school systems—including Broward’s – have had to reduce or eliminate arts programming. That makes facilities such as the Arts Academy of Hollywood very important institutions, creating opportunities that would not exist without them. Having the Arts Academy of Hollywood in our downtown will fill a need for arts eduction, as well as serve as a magnet for families, helping our businesses thrive.
Mara S. Giulianti, Mayor, City of Hollywood, Florida, September 24, 2003
The Arts Academy and Linda Strutz Linda Strutz’s Arts Academy is exactly the kind of entity we need to help all of us in Downtown Hollywood. As a fellow business and as President of the Downtown Hollywood Business Association, I feel that Linda’s programs bring exactly the kind of people to our downtown that we desire. It’s wonderful to see both the children and their parents that surround her studio every day. The new and bigger location will be an even greater asset to our community.
Dr. Barry Kay Hollywood Eyes President – Downtown Hollywood Business
The Arts heal, unite, and express man’s longing for love and beauty in this world, through integrating the Divine Spirit into physical form, whether it be through the doorway of dance, music, theater, or visual arts.
Susanne Greenbaum, Supporter of the Arts
Academy of Dance is as much a part of our downtown as Hollywood Boulevard, and at the helm of that enterprise is Linda Strutz, who has been fostering arts in Hollywood for many years. Her dream is coming alive in our Arts Park. Academy of Dance is the bedrock of our downtown art and cultural offerings; and Linda Strutz is the Fred Flintstone of our Bedrock.
Keith Wasserstrom Commissioner, City of Hollywood
Every city has institutions that define the character and soul of the community. The Hollywood Academy of Dance is one of those institutions. For over a decade now, Linda Strutz has molded the lives of thousands of youngsters in our community. Not just dance, but character and love have been the teachings of this great organization. I watched for years my own daughter dance at the academy, and I know that a lot of who she is today is a direct result of the guidance she received at the dance academy. I am honored to be a part of the expanded Arts Academy of Hollywood, which will be opening in one of my properties on Harrison Street in the near future. To Linda I say thank you for your years of dedication and love. We wish you the continued success in your new endeavor. Your success is the future of Hollywood.
Jerry Mintz President The Mint Companies
The Arts Academy of Hollywood is one of the leading institutions transforming our downtown into an active cultural center for South Broward. We are proud to support the development of the Academy.
James H. Edward’s Executive Director Hollywood Downtown CRA
As an employee of the City of Hollywood, and working in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts, I have had the honor of working with many cultural events, artists and organizations. Linda and I met when I first started working for the city and have since become great friends. Whenever I ask her to lend a helping hand on an event, she is always there. Linda has a dream to expand the quality of life and offer opportunities for all ages and ethnic groups. Go Linda! Keep reaching for the sky and make it happen! As always, my support is with you.
